Wedding Pictures
Friday, 06.19.09 @ 08:00AM Many people have asked to see pictures of the wedding. It wasn't a big production; just family and a very few friends here at the house. We took a lot of pictures, but Mr. New Husband says he doesn't want his name or face on the internet. I will respect his wishes and only post pictures he wasn't in, or that I could crop him out of.
Before the ceremony, with two bridesmaids and my niece. or was this after? I don't know.
This was just as the ceremony started; my bridesmaids were Gothgrrl, Princess, and Cowgirl. They took turns holding the ring. Two out of three cried during the ceremony.
Most of the pictures during the ceremony showed Mr. Won't-show-his-face nicely, but only the back of my head because of where my SIL was sitting and snapping. Princess looks really tall from this angle!
Then there was food. We had ham and cheese canapes, more cheese and crackers, chocolate-covered strawberries, wedding cookies, wedding cake, mints, various other snacky-type things, and then April brought in the most delicious rumaki! No liver in these, though. Here's the recipe: roll bacon strips in brown sugar. Wrap them around water chestnuts. Secure with a toothpick and sprinkle on more brown sugar. Then bake until the bacon is cooked. They were sinfully good!
The kids went through the food like a herd of vacuum cleaners.
The cake was just as delicious as it looked. Dark chocolate cake with raspberry icing, covered in white chocolate flakes. I thought for sure we'd have leftovers, as big as it was, but there wasn't much left when the guests were gone.
Brother Bill took portraits of the family, but since he won't get around to sending those for quite some time (if ever), April took pictures of the picture-making process. Here I am with Mom and some of the kids.
This was the set-up for a family portrait. Mr. Shy is obscured by the photographer, so what you see is new stepson, me, Mom, SIL, Gothgrrl, Cowgirl, niece, and nephew. Princess is probably hidden in there somewhere.
Another snapshot of me and my girls.
And here I am with April, who has contributed material to this site over the years, and who brought the delicious bacon-wrapped water chestnuts.

Congratulations.
I had no idea you were getting married.
I hope everything works out brilliantly for you both.
Bill, I changed computers and have no idea what my WN login or password is. I wish I could access my original account.
Congratulations, and eternal happiness to all of you!
Very nice Miss C. Things looked lovely, happy, and relaxed, the way a wedding should be.
