- the pin is a lot harder to pull out than simply using your teeth (Hollywood and Sgt rock aside) Think about it, if was that easy, you'd blow yourself up walking thru the bush.

-the handle is supposed to fly off once released as it holds the firing pin down.

and lastly, maybe more in line with the gore of the video, a frag grenade tosses heaps o'frags every where. There would certainly be more than one casualty.

@zarf: That's exactly what I thought about the handle. Not too hard to look up for the director if he doesn't know anything about grenades.

Pretty awesome video though. I was hopefully they would smack it over the protective barrier to all the freaks watching.
