And this, fellow readers, is why Miss Cellania is probably the best writer we've ever had. A thing of beauty. -YesButNoButYes

...Miss Cellania who’s wonderfully funny and knowledgeable and also happens to write for Mental Floss. Her personal blog is updated as often as any multi-contributor blog site and has some wonderful gems... -Infinite Well

Miss Cellania has links, doctored-up photos staring Miss C. herself and YouTube videos from anywhere and everywhere on the internet. If it's funny, you'll probably see it first on her blog. -Suzanne Broughton

Miss Cellania has a site that is to die for. Whenever it’s time for a bit of a smile, interspersed with a gaffaw or two, I head on over there. -Compass Points

If you’re jonesing for more links you may want to visit Miss Cellania’s blog. Or should I say blogs. She’s like the blogosphere’s version of that Jamaican family from In Living Color. She has more blogs than they had jobs. If she starts contributing to one more blog I’m going to stage an intervention. -Cynical-C

I could never in a million years come up with half the wonderful facts, news, links et al that pepper every post she creates. -Mad Baggage

It’s a fantastic set of funny and interesting links, jokes and pictures that she compiled *every day*! -Neatorama

She finds the coolest, funniest stuff day after day. How on earth she does this I have no clue. -NYC Educator

I don't even know how I found Miss C, but I remember the first time I was there, I burned my chocolate chip cookies. I just couldn't stop browsing! Fun stuff over there. -Boomer Chick

If you're not regularly heading over and reading her well compiled, link-filled-goodness posts already, then maybe you should take a step back and do some self reflection and introspection to make sure your life is headed the direction it needs to be and that you're on a path that is fulfilling to you and your fellow man, as a person and as an American. -Hoodlumman

Funniest woman alive. -Pixie

It is quite possibly one of the most extensive sites I have seen for links to humourous content. It is a virtual encyclopedia for a myriad of different jokes on different topics and still growing. So a good site and worth checking out, theres definitely something for everyone, or anyone whos up for a laugh that is! -Mr. Joe Blog

BTW - you quite possibly put together the best, most well researched content on the web, bigtime kudos to you! -Anita B

One place I keep going back to is Miss Cellania. She really has it going on over there. Her posts are chock full of stuff I've never seen before, along with a few old favorites I had forgotten about. Anyone that can consistently come up with that much good stuff deserves kudos. -Blue Beaver Beer

Miss Cellania - is a great read, and there’s more than enough laughs to kill an evening with, on any given day. Miss C has her fingers on the pulse of every joke on the web that you haven’t seen yet. -Saskboy

(Funny, if a tad lowbrow) -Utopia Moment

Fabulous as usual..I appreciate all of the effort..and I am truly humbled. -Homo Escapeons

I'm not even sure why I thought her post is funny, but it is. That's all you're getting from me. Go read it. -konagod

YAY! Miss Cellania knows I'm alive!! -Fuzzy Dave

Admit is Cellania, this is your ex boyfriend! :)
06.23.08 @ 06:31AM | Unregistered CommenterJimbo
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time.
06.23.08 @ 06:43PM | Unregistered CommenterAdam Stanhope
Reminds me a lot of the guys going noodling (hand-fishing). But perhaps (perhaps) even more dangerous.
06.23.08 @ 10:09PM | Unregistered CommenterCarl
Say what you will, he is happier than most folks.
06.24.08 @ 02:00AM | Unregistered CommenterChich
That's what I thought, too, Chich. He's a pretty happy guy, and he's very good at what he does. No problem with that.

Its not right to post this video and have us all laugh at this man. He was probably raised in intense poverty and we poke fun at his way of life. I doubt he watches videos of us at work and laughs. Whatever way you put it (even if its out of "good fun"), is demeaning to him.
06.30.08 @ 12:16PM | Unregistered CommenterDavid
One question: why?
06.30.08 @ 12:56PM | Unregistered CommenterDrTom
single handedly putting the turtle population on the endangered species list!

I wish I was that happy with what I do for a living or hobby. Redneck or not.

turtle man for president!

Oh for pity's sake David!

I will bet you $500.00 that man does not give a D-Double Damn what you or any other horse's ass thinks about him.

He IS happy.

On the other hand, elitist and arrogant people who share views like yours are generally miserable about everyone's plight. You can only stand yourselves to be around, and you consider people like the "turtle-man" sub servant. Such unabashed condescension.

Stop thinking that YOU and YOUR ILK know what is better for everyone. You would have him be miserable like you?? You should be so happy.

Now, STFU, go watch MSNBC, and you will feel superior. Then return and post something stupid again. You know you want too.

Arrogant douche bag.
06.30.08 @ 03:11PM | Unregistered CommenterFarside
No! Save the turtles! Don't eat them! I think people would feel different if he was tossing dogs around like that...
06.30.08 @ 03:23PM | Unregistered CommenterAdam
First...oh lord. That guy has some stones. Those evil bastards can easily bite through your hand. And they are mean. If we got one on a line, we shot it rather than get anywhere near it.

Second...Dave, get over yourself. That guys doesn't give a tinkers damn what we think, and undoubtedly made the video thinking "wait'll those high class pinheads see this...it'll make 'em squirm". Guess he was right.

Third...Adam, get over yourself. PETArd meeting is over...err...someplace else. Besides...turtle is tasty.

Great video, I love turtles.

Obviously he doesn't care what others think. If he did, he might be bothered by the pain he's causing.

You know, this man is just a guy with a hobby. Some people fish, some hunt deer. I'll bet he has a decent job, probably a family, and enjoys a good movie, just like anyone else. He obviously has a more diverse culinary palette than the average American.

And I agree, he is extremely brave. A snapping turtle is a very dangerous animal, and to catch one by hand is amazing.

Snapping turtles can also be pests for people who raise ducks and geese. He might be the person farmers call to get rid of these things.

i know many people like him in the south their great!! Their great to talk to but sometimes a scary to be around. When they belive in something they'll fight you over it if you push them to hard. To bad more of us aren't like them may be our country wouldn't be in the shape it's in now. we sit on our asses and let the politicians tell us how to live. It would be different if the politicians lived in the south and lived around people like the turtle man!!!

"I'm trying not to smile because I got my teeth knocked out by a chain saw"....amazing

I'm a field biologist and his work looks like fun to me. Also, I like to eat wild game. Hunting is natural. That being said---I wondered why he's doing this. Just to eat them himself? Does he sell the meat?
Big turtles can accumulate a lot of toxins in their meat over a long lifetime. Also, I wonder a little as to whether catching so many adults puts a dent in the population. Maybe that is the idea. I just want to know.

And, yeah, the city life is not the only good life. The only thing I wish is the poor guy could get his teeth fixed if he wants. If he is too poor for that, THAT's a national problem that needs fixing.
07.01.08 @ 07:19PM | Unregistered Commenterlynx636
So cool. Noodling for snappers - unbelievable!

I wish I was as happy at my job as that guy. That does look like fun, though I kinda like having all my extremities...
