Fish Tank

“They” say that looking at fish in an aquarium will lower your blood pressure. I saw sharks in a tank recently at the Newport Aquarium, and I can’t imagine someone’s blood pressure going DOWN over that! But a tank of fish in th house can be really relaxing.... AFTER you’ve set it up, stocked it, cleaned it, aerated it, tested it, and fed the fish. Its also a fine alternative to fur and feathers if you have allergies. Fish tanks need to be cleaned and maintained, but at least the mess is contained in a small area, UNLIKE the chaos that greeted me after I left two cats in the house alone for five days. I always had an aquarium, especially in those rented apartments where “pets” were not allowed. Now I have a cement pond to keep the fish in, but I also have an aquarium, in case I ever get the energy to set it up in the winter. Don’t hold your breath. But I have seen some AWESOME aquariums on the internet that I’d be proud to own, IF I could afford
them.
Pieter van Suijlekom's Reef Aquarium will knock your socks off.
The Fish Highway is too cool.

THE ROCK
Once upon a time, there lived a little gray rock in a fish tank. His dream was to be a driveway rock. The little gray rock had two friends that lived with him in the fish tank, a red rock and a blue rock.
Everyday the fish that lived in the fish tank with them, would come over and make weird faces at them. The little gray rock really started to get bugged by this, so he formulated a plan with his friends. They decided the next time that fish came over, the little gray rock would climb onto his friends and smash the fish.
Well, that's just what they did and it killed the fish. The owners of the fish saw that the fish was dead so they flushed the fish down the toilet, and threw the rocks out onto the driveway.
MORAL: Use your friends, smash your enemies, and you get what you want.
THE FUNERAL
Little Tim was in the garden filling in a hole when his neighbor peered over the fence. Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you up to there, Tim?"
"My goldfish died," replied Tim tearfully, without looking up, "and I've just buried him."
The neighbor was concerned, "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it?"
Tim patted down the last heap of earth then replied, "That's because he's inside your stupid cat."
Thought for today: Two fish are in a tank. One says to the other "You drive. I'll man the guns."

Have a great weekend and I'll stop in as I can while I'm in Denver.
I think that fish tank/bird cage is pretty. I could find a place to display that, without any fish or birds of course.
I have always like fish tanks, but as you said, the setting up and maintenance of them can be annoying. I think the more expensive the tank, the less work it takes for upkeep. So, save up before you buy one.
We always had a fish tank when I was growing up, but all my kids have had are an occasional goldfish or beta fish. They've never lasted very long, so our toilet had many a funeral.
Cute cartoons, especially the one with the butt bubbles.
That kid buried the CAT!!!!! Hahahaha.
As a Mac user, I'm surprised you went with the TV set/fish tank, and not the old Mac!

I used to have this big old gold fish named Patton. Patton lived for, goodness knows, maybe eight years?
Anyway, he had gotten so used to the routines of the day that, when my mom or I would clean his tank, he'd swim INTO my hand, and relax there while I moved him to a clean pot with fresh water.
Rinse the tank, screen the gravel, replace old plants, and then he'd swim into my hand again, and lay there while I moved him back.

That Netherlands tank is something else. Amazing how a hobby can take you over....
